The Short Answer

Your music stats do not have to be an annual event. In Trending Music your profile shows your top artists ranked with real play counts, your listening streak, how many songs you have saved and how many different artists you listen to — and it updates as you listen rather than once a year.

Why Waiting Until December Is the Wrong Way Round

Wrapped is a brilliant piece of marketing and a poor piece of software. It lands in the first week of December, covers a window that closed weeks earlier, and then disappears for another eleven months.

That timing has three problems.

It is already out of date when it arrives. The artist who defined your March is buried under whatever you played in October.

You cannot check it when it would actually be useful. Someone asks what you have been listening to, and the honest answer is a shrug — the data exists, you just cannot see it.

It only counts one app. If you listen anywhere else during the year, that listening is invisible to it.

A profile you can open in March is simply more useful than a slideshow you get in December.

What Your Profile Actually Shows

Open the profile and you get a live picture of your taste rather than a year-end summary.

Top artists, ranked. Your most-played artists in order, each card showing the artwork, the rank and the real number of plays behind it — not a vague ordering you have to take on trust.

All time or the last 30 days. One tap switches the window. All-time is your identity; the recent view is your current phase, which is usually the more interesting of the two.

Your listening streak. Consecutive days you have played something. It is the stat people find hardest to put down once they can see it.

Songs saved and artists explored. Two numbers that say how deep your library goes and how wide your taste runs.

Your collection. A grid of the artwork from the music you have saved — the closest thing to a record shelf a phone can give you.

Superfan badges. Earned when you play one artist enough to make it undeniable.

How to See Yours, in About a Minute

2. Play some music. The stats build from what you save and play, so a brand-new account starts close to empty — that part is unavoidable in any app.

3. Open your profile from the Social tab.

4. Tap All time above your top artists to switch to the last 30 days, and back again.

5. Tap the QR icon in the corner to get a shareable card of your profile.

No subscription, no waiting list, no December.

Compare Your Taste With a Friend

Stats are more fun with someone to compare them against, which is the other thing an annual recap makes awkward — everyone gets theirs at once and the moment passes in a day.

Common Questions

Is this the same as Spotify Wrapped? No, and deliberately so. Wrapped is an annual, animated recap of one year. This is a profile you can open any day, showing your ranked artists, streak and library totals as they stand right now.

Does the 30-day view show minutes listened? It shows the artists you saved most in the last 30 days, with counts. It is a measure of what you have been adding to your library rather than a stopwatch on playback time — worth knowing so the number means what you think it means.

Do I need a subscription? No. The profile, the stats, the streak and the share card are all free.

Can other people see my stats? Only if you choose to share. Your listening activity is off by default and controlled by a single privacy switch, and a profile you have not opted in to publish stays private.

Does it count music I played before installing? No app can see listening that happened elsewhere. Your profile builds from what you play and save in Trending Music, so it gets more accurate the longer you use it.

What is a listening streak? Consecutive days on which you played something. Miss a day and it resets — which is exactly why people keep it alive.
