Terms of Service

By accessing or using Trending Music (“the Service”), operated at trending.fm and via the Trending Music iOS application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must not share your account credentials with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or are used for unauthorized purposes.

Trending Music offers a free tier with limited features and premium subscription plans billed weekly or monthly. All prices are in US dollars.

• Free trial — New accounts receive a 3-day free trial with 2 songs per day. You will not be charged during the trial period. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.
• Recurring billing — After the trial, your subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing period until canceled.
• Cancellation — You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Account → Subscription. Access continues through the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds — Payments are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at [email protected].

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent access restrictions, DRM, or rate limits
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content from the Service
• Upload, transmit, or share content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or harmful
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the Service without permission
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its content

The Service allows you to create playlists, send chat messages in listening parties, suggest songs, post emoji reactions, set a display name, bio, and avatar. You retain ownership of content you create, but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute it within the Service.

You are solely responsible for content you submit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, including but not limited to content flagged by our automated profanity filter or removed by a listening party host.

Listening parties enable real-time group listening with chat and song suggestions. The following rules apply:

• Chat messages are subject to automated keyword filtering for profanity and slurs
• Party hosts may delete any chat message at their discretion
• Song suggestions are reviewed and approved or rejected by the host
• We may suspend users who repeatedly violate chat conduct standards

Music content available through the Service is sourced from third-party providers including YouTube. We do not claim ownership of third-party music content. All copyrights and trademarks remain with their respective owners.

The Trending Music name, logo, and original interface designs are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials without written permission.

If you connect your Spotify account, the Service imports library data (saved tracks, playlists, albums) that you authorize. This integration is subject to Spotify's terms. You may disconnect Spotify at any time from Settings → Spotify Connect.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all content will always be available.

Music availability may vary based on region and licensing. Songs may be removed or become unavailable without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trending Music and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruptions.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we may notify you via email or an in-app notice.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
